Job Summary
WAEP is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to support its legal and regulatory compliance framework. The successful candidate will monitor compliance obligations, maintain compliance controls and records, coordinate compliance reviews, and promote ethical and policy-compliant conduct across the company’s upstream operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the corporate compliance register and track applicable statutory, regulatory, contractual and internal compliance obligations.
- Support the implementation and periodic review of compliance policies, procedures, controls and monitoring plans.
- Conduct compliance reviews and assist in identifying gaps, exceptions and corrective actions.
- Track agreed compliance actions to closure and escalate overdue or material issues appropriately.
- Support due diligence and compliance screening of relevant third parties, vendors and counterparties.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, declarations, approvals, registers and audit trails.
- Support employee awareness programmes covering ethics, conflicts of interest, anti-bribery, gifts and hospitality, and related compliance requirements.
- Assist with investigations and fact-finding exercises involving potential policy or compliance breaches while maintaining confidentiality.
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments and support communication of compliance implications to affected internal functions.
- Prepare periodic compliance reports and dashboards for Management.
- Support regulatory, audit and other assurance reviews.
- Promote compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company controls across the organisation.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- 8–12 years’ relevant experience in compliance, legal, audit, risk or governance.
- Experience within the oil and gas industry or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
