Job Summary

The Store Inventory Officer will be responsible for all operations related to inventory management, ensuring accurate stock records, proper storage and efficient warehouse operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of receipts and items issued from the warehouse to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Handle the stores’ data centre and build and maintain an inventory material database (warehouse material list).
  • Supervise the offloading process and subsequent arrangement of materials and consignments to ensure safe custody, easy access and identification.
  • Reconcile physical stock with stock recorded in the system.
  • Undertake stock-taking activities and confirm periodic stock levels by working closely with designated staff.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ascertain reorder levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures required in the warehouse.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the department as required.
  • Generate required weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

  • Minimum of a BSc or HND in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a numerate discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of automated store inventory management.

Skills and Competencies

  • Good analytical and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
