The Place is recruiting to fill the position of Executive Private (Home) Chef in Lekki, Lagos. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a private home, planning menus, sourcing fresh ingredients and ensuring that meals meet the family’s preferences and dietary requirements.
The Place is a fast-growing Nigerian conglomerate with operations in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) sector of the hospitality industry. The company operates across multiple locations in Lagos and Abuja and has a workforce of over 2,000 employees.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all ingredients and prepared meals are fresh and of high quality.
- Follow recipes and accurately measure, weigh and mix ingredients.
- Prepare meals using various cooking methods, including baking, grilling, steaming and boiling.
- Present, garnish and arrange dishes professionally.
- Plan and prepare customised menus based on the family’s preferences and dietary needs.
- Shop for fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Handle and store food ingredients appropriately.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Clean and maintain kitchen utensils, equipment and dishes.
- Store and dispose of food properly to minimise waste and comply with health regulations.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar role.
- Must be an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, Cross River State or the Republic of Benin.
- Must be at least 35 years old.
- Must be male and married.
- Experience in menu planning and meal preparation.
- Knowledge of different cuisines and cooking techniques.
- Excellent cooking skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt recipes to meet specific dietary requirements.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Must be willing to work in Lekki, Lagos.
