Job Summary
Isaacworthub LLC is seeking a meticulous and strategic Internal Control Manager with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry to oversee, evaluate and strengthen its internal control framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding organisational integrity, mitigating operational and financial risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
Candidates must have proven experience in the upstream, downstream or oilfield services sector, as Oil & Gas industry experience is a strict requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and continuously evaluate a robust internal control framework across corporate, financial and field operations.
- Identify and mitigate industry-specific risks relating to joint venture accounting, procurement, supply chain logistics, inventory management and capital expenditure for major projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, production sharing contracts, joint venture agreements, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and environmental regulations.
- Plan and conduct comprehensive internal control reviews, coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely resolution of identified control weaknesses.
- Provide executive management and the Audit Committee with data-driven insights and recommendations on risk management and organisational controls.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience in internal control, risk management or internal audit, strictly within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIA or CISA.
- Proven understanding of the COSO framework, SOX compliance and financial reporting processes specific to the energy industry.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify financial and operational risks.
- Extensive knowledge of Oil & Gas industry operations and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to analyse complex financial and operational data and identify potential fraud, inefficiencies and control weaknesses.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to enforce compliance, influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinking and strong organisational skills.
