Job Summary

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring income and expenses, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Record sales, purchases, expenses, payroll, and other financial transactions.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash-flow reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
• Track inventory costs and assist with stock valuation and costing of furniture products.
• Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control.
• Monitor production and operational costs and identify areas of unnecessary expenditure.
• Prepare documents and information required for audits and tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
• Provide management with financial information to support business decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, furniture, retail, or a related industry.
• Professional accounting qualification or part-qualification is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage confidential financial information.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
