Job Summary

ECOM is seeking an experienced Accounts and Finance Executive to work with its accounts team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting effective liquidity management across business locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee the deliverables of senior and junior members of the accounts team.
• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial data, records, and reports.
• Ensure timely completion of Cognos reporting requirements.
• Monitor internal control systems across office and warehouse locations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Review journal entries, ledger reconciliations, and trial balances prepared by the accounts team.
• Prepare required accounts and finance schedules.
• Review daily and weekly reports for submission to the Country and Group Finance Heads.
• Provide financial oversight for physical stock counts, reconciliations, and shrinkage investigations.
• Analyse business costs, including warehousing, freight, clearing, and port logistics.
• Supervise liquidity management and track daily cash positions across various bank accounts.
• Monitor trade financing instruments, including Letters of Credit and Bills for Collection.
• Manage currency risk and foreign exchange exposures in line with approved company rates.
• Follow up on intercompany, stock, accounts receivable, and accounts payable reconciliations.
• Coordinate with the finance team to support statutory auditors.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned by the Finance Heads.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Master’s Degree or MBA in a related discipline is an added advantage.
• Mandatory professional qualification such as ICAN or ACCA.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience in agribusiness, FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain companies with multiple inventory locations is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP and accounting software such as Sage Evolution and IBM Cognos.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies, cost anomalies, inventory leakages, and operational inefficiencies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong people-management and team-building skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to visit other business locations when required.
