Job Overview
Tilone Subsea Limited is seeking a competent and experienced Base Engineer to oversee its operational base, equipment maintenance, workshop activities and logistics support for offshore operations. The successful candidate will coordinate engineering projects, supervise maintenance activities and ensure company equipment remains operational, safe and properly documented.
Tilone Subsea Limited is a marine contracting and subsea services company based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The company specialises in subsea inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR), as well as engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC). It was incorporated in 1993 as TILONE (NIGERIA) Limited and changed its name to Tilone Subsea Limited in 2010 to reflect its core services and values.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects.
- Define project parameters, allocate responsibilities to suitable team members and monitor project progress.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, work plans and personnel performance, providing regular project status reports.
- Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers and other stakeholders to improve work methods and maintain project profitability.
- Review engineering activities and initiate corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure project compliance with applicable codes, procedures, policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Support and comply with the company’s Quality Assurance (QA) Management System.
- Develop, implement and update procedures and processes within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Prepare project plans and work procedures to support effective execution.
- Ensure tasks and deliverables are completed within stipulated deadlines.
- Prepare reports, proposals and tenders to meet internal and external requirements.
- Liaise with offshore project teams to identify requirements for project spares and consumables, raise requisitions and coordinate with the base administration team on purchase orders.
- Follow up on procurement and delivery to ensure materials reach the warehouse and offshore project locations on time.
- Coordinate routine maintenance of company equipment at the base and offshore locations in collaboration with the offshore team.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of equipment maintenance activities.
- Maintain operational logs, including daily progress reports, diving logs, fault logs and monthly repair logs.
- Analyse operational records and prepare monthly reports on company equipment performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- B.Eng. or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience as a Base, Workshop or Maintenance Engineer, preferably in the oil and gas, marine or subsea industry.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and lifting equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and lead a technical team.
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards and equipment certification requirements.
- Must currently reside in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
- Must be 35 years of age or older.
- Professional certification, such as COREN registration or HSE Level 3, is an added advantage.
