Salpha Energy is recruiting to fill the position of Cashier / Inventory Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cash transactions, maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting sales and partnership operations, and ensuring proper accountability for financial and product-related activities at the Ilorin branch.

Job Overview

The Cashier / Inventory Officer will play a dual role in managing cash transactions and inventory control at the branch or outlet level. The position requires accuracy in financial dealings, transparency in stock movement and accountability for cash and products.

The role is important to maintaining operational efficiency, preventing losses and supporting sales through dealers and partnership operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Management

  • Receive payments through cash, POS and bank transfers and issue accurate receipts.
  • Record daily financial transactions in the approved systems, location drive and sheets.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions relating to dealership and partner sales.
  • Maintain records of branch expenses with supporting documentation.
  • Monitor transactions with partners, including LAPO and Grooming, ensuring sales are supported by valid and error-free documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling company funds and client financial information.
  • Track sales transactions and report discrepancies to management.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate records of stock received, issued, transferred and sold at the outlet.
  • Conduct physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with the system or stock register.
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound product movements are properly documented with signed delivery notes, stock issue forms or transfer forms.
  • Work with the sales, logistics and warehouse teams to maintain up-to-date stock balances.
  • Monitor inventory levels and submit timely replenishment requests to prevent stockouts.
  • Ensure storage areas are clean, organised and compliant with safety and product preservation standards.
  • Track defective and returned products and ensure proper documentation for repairs or warranty processing.
  • Work with the sales and engineering teams to ensure defective products are promptly repaired and returned to customers.
  • Escalate financial, sales or stock irregularities to the Account Team Lead and management.
  • Track sales orders and supplies to partners and verify quantities ordered against quantities supplied.

Other Functions

  • Conduct reconciliation for LAPO before product disbursement.
  • Maintain up-to-date sales and inventory records for audit purposes.
  • Provide courteous and efficient service to walk-in customers, dealers and partner representatives.
  • Collaborate with the Partnership Financial Accountant to validate payments for disbursements.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company’s financial policies at the outlet.

Qualifications

  • HND or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
