Greensprings School was founded in January 1985 as a Montessori school offering nursery education to children aged 2–5 years. The school started with just three pupils at its first campus in the heart of the Lagos mainland and has since grown significantly.

Today, Greensprings School operates state-of-the-art campuses on the Lekki Peninsula and in Ikoyi, with a combined student population of over 2,500 pupils. The school has been entirely self-supporting since its inception and is guided by a Board of Governors responsible for its overall strategic direction and operations, including oversight of the Director of Education and School Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures and equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical installations.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs promptly.
• Maintain and repair lighting systems, sockets, switches, distribution boards and other electrical components.
• Monitor electrical equipment and systems to identify potential faults or safety risks.
• Assist with electrical installations and modifications during construction, renovation and facility improvement projects.
• Ensure electrical work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and applicable standards.
• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns within the school.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs and replacement of components.
• Ensure proper use and care of electrical tools, equipment and materials.
• Work closely with other members of the Facilities/Maintenance team to resolve technical and building-related issues.
• Report major faults, safety concerns and required replacements to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or Facilities Management.

Requirements

• OND, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation or a related field.
• Relevant technical certification or trade qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a school, commercial, residential, hospitality or similar environment.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, installations, maintenance and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read and interpret basic electrical drawings and diagrams.
• Good knowledge of electrical safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to use electrical testing equipment and hand tools effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must demonstrate integrity, reliability, attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
