Job Title: Engineering – Process Engineer II
Location: QIT, Akwa Ibom

Main Functions
The successful candidate will lead a design team in developing basic process design specifications or oversee an engineering contractor’s technical deliverables during the front-end design and detailed engineering phases of projects.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Monitor and guide junior engineers in developing process design specifications, including heat and material balances, design flow plans, process equipment design, preliminary hydraulic balances, utility balances, basic process control and instrumentation, materials selection, and safety facilities.
- Lead or conduct process optimisation studies to identify and evaluate capital and operating cost savings, alternative process configurations and safety requirements.
- Provide technical oversight of engineering contractors’ work during front-end engineering and design (FEED) and detailed engineering to ensure compliance with company methods, guidelines, project specifications and owner’s requirements.
- Participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews for new or modified facilities and existing plant operations.
- Provide commissioning and start-up assistance for new or modified facilities as required.
- Establish process organisation and staffing requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
- BSc in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in petroleum refining, the chemical process industry or working with an engineering contractor serving these industries.
- Experience in capital project development.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, particularly for technical and business communication.
