Our client is a glass manufacturing company equipped with modern glass processing machinery, specialising in glass tempering and other advanced glass production processes. The company provides architectural, structural and decorative glass solutions for commercial applications.
Job Summary
The company is seeking to recruit an experienced Glass Factory Manager to oversee its glass manufacturing and processing operations.
The successful candidate will lead daily factory operations, ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain high-quality production. The role requires strong technical expertise in precision glass cutting, beveling, edging, tempering and lamination processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Control: Oversee daily production workflows across glass cutting, edging, polishing, drilling, tempering and laminating production lines.
- Quality and Specification Management: Ensure dimensional accuracy, quality edge finishes, appropriate thermal strength standards and defect-free lamination, including the elimination of air bubbles and delamination.
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Develop and manage maintenance and calibration schedules for precision glass cutting tables, beveling machines, tempering ovens and double-glazing production lines.
- Material Handling and Loss Reduction: Enforce proper handling procedures for raw glass sheets to minimise breakage, scratches, workplace injuries and material waste.
- Supply Chain and Order Delivery: Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to manage float glass stock, specialised interlayer films, edge-grinding consumables and timely customer deliveries.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce strict safety procedures for heavy glass handling, suction lifter operations and the use of mandatory personal protective equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Glass/Ceramic Technology.
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in architectural or industrial glass processing.
- At least 4 years’ experience in direct factory management.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Practical knowledge of automatic glass cutting lines and edge-polishing machinery.
- Technical understanding of tempering furnace parameters and glass lamination processes, including autoclaves and PVB/EVA interlayer films.
- Strong production planning and operational management skills.
- Ability to optimise production yield and minimise material waste.
- Excellent material-handling safety management skills.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
