Job Summary
Westmead Supermarket is looking for a highly organised and experienced professional to lead its audit and accounting functions. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, auditing, internal controls, compliance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and effective financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Lead internal audit activities and review financial transactions and records.
- Monitor and strengthen internal control systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, financial and regulatory requirements.
- Review financial statements, reconciliations and accounting reports.
- Monitor income, expenses, inventory-related records and other financial transactions.
- Identify financial risks, control weaknesses and areas requiring improvement.
- Conduct periodic audits and provide recommendations to management.
- Supervise and coordinate accounting and audit personnel.
- Prepare and present financial and audit reports to management.
General Requirements
- Relevant educational qualification and professional certifications where applicable.
- Relevant work experience in a similar position, preferably in accounting, audit or financial management.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, auditing, internal controls and compliance.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail/business environment.
- Applicants must be based in or willing to work in Ibadan, Oyo State.
