Job Summary

The Head of Store at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for implementing best practices in Stores and Inventory Management to achieve the organisation’s goals and objectives effectively and in a cost-effective manner that optimises inventory levels.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Formulate long- and short-term strategic plans to enhance Inventory Management functions.
• Conceptualise and implement best practices in Stores and Inventory Management to optimise resources.
• Streamline systems and procedures for effective Inventory Control, ensuring the availability of materials to meet production targets.
• Oversee store management and maintain optimised inventory levels.
• Liaise with the Finance Department for periodic physical verification, stocktaking, reconciliation and documentation.
• Implement Standard Operating Procedures within the Stores.
• Provide effective training to team members to improve their skills and knowledge.
• Handle the classification, codification and standardisation of materials.
• Implement various analysis tools for Management Information Systems and Inventory Control.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field. An advanced degree such as an MBA can be beneficial.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Warehouse Manager (CWM) – AWA and Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – APICS.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience.
• Significant experience in a Tier 1 senior warehouse management role.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing commodity strategies to deliver improved supplier cost performance.
• Experience with industry-standard ERP systems and global warehouse organisations, with extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of warehouse operations.
