Job Title: IT Audit Specialist

Job Objectives
The IT Audit Specialist will provide independent assurance to management on IT General Controls and ensure best practices are applied in the planning and execution of Information Systems (IS) audit programmes. The role will also support enterprise-wide compliance with internal policies, procedures and documentation while identifying control issues and recommending practical remediation plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit database management systems, enterprise network security, device configurations, antivirus systems, system patches and log management.
- Review software development life cycle processes, project management implementation and change management procedures.
- Audit data encryption processes, key management lifecycle, operating systems and the physical and logical security of cardholder environments.
- Review Active Directory, operating systems, data backup and tape management.
- Assess IT systems and general controls and provide practical, value-added remediation plans.
- Prepare audit reports highlighting significant control weaknesses and their impact on the organisation.
- Participate in multiple and simultaneous risk assessment and audit engagements.
- Contribute to departmental training, development initiatives and other internal projects.
- Discuss audit findings effectively and develop business-focused control recommendations to address identified weaknesses.
- Work effectively as part of a team or independently when required.
- Build strong relationships with audit clients and provide value-added solutions and best-practice recommendations.
Requirements
- First Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in IT auditing or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of key technology and general controls around enterprise applications and information systems.
- CISA, CISM or related professional certification is an added advantage.
