Job Purpose
The Junior Accountant will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. The role is suitable for a motivated individual with a strong foundation in accounting who is willing to learn and develop in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
- Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
- Maintain organised, accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 0–2 years of accounting experience.
- Internship or entry-level accounting experience is acceptable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
