Raku General Ventures is seeking an experienced Electrical Manager with strong expertise in Wärtsilä engines and Bergen engines to oversee electrical operations, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and personnel management at its Sagamu facility.

Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shift operations of substations, including transformers and low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) circuit breakers.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, troubleshoot faults and implement solutions to minimise downtime and operational disruptions.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, technical drawings and diagrams.
- Apply strong technical knowledge of Bergen and Wärtsilä engine automation and control systems.
- Manage and troubleshoot electrical motor starters, including direct-on-line (DOL), star-delta starters and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Maintain and oversee main distribution boards (MDBs), power control centres (PCCs), motor control centres (MCCs) and sub-distribution boards (SDBs).
- Prepare daily power generation reports and maintain accurate equipment operational data.
- Develop preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for critical equipment in line with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are implemented effectively to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Supervise subordinates, maintain discipline and promote continuous skills development and staff motivation.
Requirements and Technical Competencies
- Strong practical knowledge of Wärtsilä and Bergen engines, particularly their automation and control systems.
- Sound understanding of substation operations, transformers and LV/MV circuit breakers.
- Proven technical knowledge of motor control systems, including DOL starters, star-delta starters and VFDs.
- Familiarity with MDBs, PCCs, MCCs and SDBs.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting, emergency response and preventive maintenance planning.
- Ability to prepare operational reports and maintain equipment performance records.
- Strong supervisory, organisational and team management skills.
