The Opportunity

Your Key Responsibilities
As a Manager, you will advise on complex regulatory and tax advisory engagements and contribute innovative planning ideas for our diverse client base.
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Support the business to identify and reach out to potential clients.
- Maintain effective client relationships.
- Participate and assist in reaching Client Service Teams’ goals.
- Collaborate on business development initiatives in specific industries targeting practice growth.
- Identify opportunities to sell refund and recovery services.
Research, Advisory & Compliance - Undertake legal and regulatory research and assess and evaluate the impact of changes in applicable legislation and best international practices.
- Suggest practical and innovative solutions to clients and reach relevant conclusions.
- Lead development of recommendations and solution implementation plans and use professional judgment in making informed decisions on complex issues.
- Effectively apply indirect tax knowledge to situations affecting clients.
- Draft tax alerts about changes to legislation and regulations or following policy statements or judgements.
- Manage clients’ compliance obligations.
- Support clients in regulatory compliance, including the timely preparation and submission of regulatory filings such as annual returns, or a timely response to regulatory circulars.
- Support clients to obtain necessary licenses, liaise with regulators, and ensure policy updates.
Risk Management & Team Development - Identify, understand, and escalate clients’ compliance risk events/issues in a timely manner and focus on fixing the root causes of the issues. Monitor the implementation status of agreed-upon action points aimed at driving compliance.
- Coordinate a program of training and capacity-building activities for the team covering all key areas of compliance and regulatory developments.
To qualify for the role you must have
- A Bachelor’s degree in law (at least a second-class upper division).
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant regulatory compliance experience or equivalent experience in business or industry.
- Excellent managerial, organizational and written communication skills.
