Role Overview

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and improvement of production machinery and industrial equipment to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, assembly, commissioning and testing of new machinery and equipment.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Investigate equipment failures to diagnose root causes and recommend effective remedies or design modifications.
• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and support the Engineering team in restoring equipment to operation.
• Assist in carrying out maintenance activities quickly to minimise downtime.
• Inspect mechanical systems and equipment to identify potential faults and maintenance requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in line with safety procedures and company standards.

Requirements

• BSc or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–4 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing/FMCG environment.
• Practical experience in mechanical maintenance of production machinery and industrial equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Ability to respond effectively to machine breakdowns under pressure.
• Good problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence.
