SiSa Method is recruiting on behalf of its client, which is developing the Ajaokuta Mini Project in Kogi State, to fill the position of Operations and Asset Manager.
The project involves the development of a planned 7 MMscfd mini facility. Site works are underway, while plant equipment manufactured in China is currently in sea transit. First gas production is targeted for April 2027, subject to project readiness and approvals.
Job Summary
The Operations and Asset Manager will be responsible for developing the operating model and asset management systems alongside the construction of the Ajaokuta Mini-LNG plant. The successful candidate will ensure that the facility is adequately prepared to transition safely from installation through commissioning to first gas production.
The role will involve establishing maintenance strategies, operating procedures, spare parts requirements, staffing structures, training programmes and equipment handover processes to support safe and reliable plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the Operations Readiness Plan, including responsible personnel, deliverables and milestone criteria through to stable plant operation.
- Define the operating organisation, staffing requirements, competency matrix, shift structure and training needs.
- Develop operating philosophies and procedures covering start-up, normal operations, shutdown, emergency shutdown and equipment isolation.
- Build the asset register, equipment criticality assessments, maintenance strategies, job plans and critical spare parts lists.
- Coordinate equipment preservation, tagging, inspection and storage with the Logistics team in line with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) instructions.
- Participate in system walkdowns and review vendor manuals, alarm and trip lists, and equipment handover dossiers.
- Establish reliability and performance measures, inventory controls and statutory inspection registers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- At least seven years of operations or maintenance experience in gas processing, LNG, power or process plants.
- Experience in operational readiness, commissioning or start-up of new facilities.
- Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), asset integrity and statutory inspection requirements.
- Ability to develop and write operating and maintenance procedures.
- Strong coordination skills and experience working with project teams, vendors and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) teams.
