Job Description
The Operations Lead will provide day-to-day leadership for PricePally’s programme operations across approved locations. The role will translate programme plans into coordinated field delivery, overseeing people, infrastructure, logistics, supply chain activities and operational controls.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Planning and Delivery
- Translate programme workplans into operational schedules, deployment plans and responsibilities.
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities across supply chain, logistics, HSE, HR and other support functions.
- Establish operating procedures, escalation processes and field controls.
- Monitor operational milestones and resolve delays and capacity gaps.
- Ensure operations align with budgets, participant targets, market demand and quality standards.
- Provide operational reports and recommendations to senior management.
Field Operations and Service Quality
- Oversee aggregation centres, storage facilities, cold-chain assets, vehicles, equipment and other infrastructure.
- Maintain standards for produce receipt, weighing, grading, storage, dispatch, traceability and documentation.
- Coordinate participant mobilisation and field activities.
- Conduct site inspections, spot checks and corrective actions.
- Monitor throughput, turnaround time, asset utilisation, losses and service quality.
- Ensure operations are accessible to target participants, including young women, persons with disabilities and IDPs.
Supply Chain, Logistics and Market Fulfilment
- Coordinate production forecasts, aggregation, transport capacity, storage and buyer delivery schedules.
- Ensure safe and efficient first-mile and last-mile logistics.
- Align sourcing, inventory, dispatch and fulfilment decisions with verified demand.
- Monitor produce losses, damage, rejection, route performance and fulfilment failures.
- Manage relationships with logistics providers, facility operators, producer organisations and vendors.
- Support scalable logistics-pooling and shared-infrastructure models.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
- Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Inclusion Manager to implement field data-collection and verification processes.
- Ensure accurate participant, activity, asset, logistics, inventory, incident and transaction records.
- Review operational dashboards and performance data.
- Facilitate participant feedback and complaints processes.
- Provide operational information for reports, audits and learning activities.
- Recommend improvements based on field evidence.
Resource, Risk and Compliance Management
- Prepare operational forecasts, procurement schedules, travel plans and resource requests.
- Maintain controls for assets, fuel, inventory, vehicles and facilities.
- Identify and manage operational, security, HSE, environmental and safeguarding risks.
- Ensure vendors and contractors meet agreed service and compliance requirements.
- Support audits and monitoring visits.
- Promote value for money through route optimisation, asset pooling, preventative maintenance and loss reduction.
People and Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and manage zonal and operational teams.
- Establish clear objectives and performance expectations.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, deployment and staff welfare.
- Ensure personnel receive training on safeguarding, inclusion, health and safety, data protection and the Code of Conduct.
- Address performance and capacity issues promptly.
- Support succession planning and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
Competencies
- Strong operational leadership and field execution skills.
- Good understanding of agrifood supply chains, aggregation, warehousing, cold chain, transport, inventory and market fulfilment.
- Experience managing multi-site operations, vendors, resources and operational risks.
- Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams.

Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in operations management, agribusiness, logistics, supply chain, programme delivery or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years in a management role involving multi-site teams, budgets, assets and service delivery.
- Experience coordinating field operations within commercial, externally funded or multi-partner programmes.
- Experience managing vendors, facilities, transport, inventory and operational risks.
- Experience in market access, aggregation, logistics, cold-chain, distribution or agricultural value-chain operations.
- Experience integrating gender equality, disability inclusion, youth participation and safeguarding.
- Experience in Nigeria’s agricultural or food-market sector is strongly preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field.
- Relevant Master’s Degree or postgraduate professional qualification is desirable.
- Professional certification in supply chain, logistics, operations, project management, quality or HSE is an advantage.
Other Requirements
- Must have the legal right to live and work in Nigeria.
- Willingness to travel regularly to programme locations.
- Appointment is subject to reference, identity, qualification and applicable background and safeguarding checks.
- The position is a 3-year fixed-term contract, subject to programme funding and partnership arrangements.
