Job Overview
Boctrust Microfinance Bank is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organised and proactive Operations Officer to oversee its day-to-day banking operations. The successful candidate will ensure accurate transaction processing, compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, and efficient service delivery across the bank’s operational channels.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily core banking operations, transaction processing and account management.
- Perform daily postings, reconciliations, and end-of-day and end-of-month processing using the BankOne core banking software.
- Monitor tellering activities and cash limits while ensuring accuracy in vault management and cash handling.
- Verify and authorise customer transactions in line with approved authorisation limits and bank policies.
- Reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts, suspense accounts and external bank statements regularly.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal control guidelines, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) regulations, and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) requirements.
- Resolve operational issues, customer complaints and system-related queries promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Work Experience: At least three years of direct experience in core banking operations within a microfinance bank or commercial bank.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on proficiency in BankOne core banking software is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of microfinance banking practices, transaction processing and clearing procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and numerical skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
