Introduction
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) assists refugees and internally displaced persons globally, providing emergency aid, advocacy, and sustainable solutions for a brighter future. DRC operates in conflict-affected areas, along displacement routes, and settlement countries, promoting dignity and human rights.

Background
DRC has been operational in Nigeria since 2015, focusing on delivering life-saving assistance and protection to vulnerable populations in conflict-affected regions.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Protection Coordinator will lead technical coordination, advisory, fundraising, and representation of DRC in relevant technical fora and working groups.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Technical Coordination and Advisory:
    • Provide technical advisory to implementation teams.
    • Formulate and implement technical strategy aligned with country objectives.
    • Support proposal writing and technical review processes.
    • Conduct capacity building and develop technical guidelines.
  • Representation, Fundraising and Advocacy:
    • Represent DRC in Protection-related forums and clusters.
    • Engage stakeholders and support fundraising efforts.
    • Advocate for Protection issues and contribute to sectoral partnerships.
  • Qualifications:
    • Required:
      • Minimum 5 years in protection, 3 years at senior level.
      • Experience in proposal writing and technical reporting.
      • Proficiency in English with strong communication skills.
      • Bachelorโ€™s degree in relevant field.
    • Desirable:
      • Masterโ€™s degree in relevant field.
      • Experience in capacity building and knowledge of Nigeria context.
