The successful candidate will inspect materials, articles and processes and carry out tests to ensure compliance with established requirements and customers’ expectations.

Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for conducting quality inspections, identifying defects and non-conformities, maintaining quality records and supporting the implementation of quality, food safety, environmental, health and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each pallet before loading for dents, loose straps, loose stretch wrapping, damaged pallets and pallets without tickets, and ensure such pallets are not loaded.
• Seal trucks after products are loaded, document the seal number in the waybill and communicate the information to the QA Manager.
• Ensure each truck has a Certificate of Conformance before leaving the plant.
• Inspect can lids before loading into trucks for damaged protective covering.
• Prepare daily reports of quality inspection activities for submission to the QA Manager.
• Participate in the implementation and maintenance of GZI quality, environmental, health and safety, and food safety management systems.
• Conduct routine attribute defect inspections on all production lines.
• Perform and record all required visual inspections.
• Perform and record all required dimensional inspections of packaging materials.
• Review and/or create SOPs to ensure the accuracy of process quality checks.
• Accept or reject materials and articles based on applicable requirements.
• Identify and document non-conformances to engineering specifications and standards.
• Notify appropriate personnel of potential rejection of items.
• Review external samples and products returned by customers.
• Obtain and maintain all process certifications required for assigned tasks.
• Document, implement and maintain the requirements of Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety management systems.

Requirements

• OND in Food Science, Laboratory Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
