Job Description

Blue Phoenix Deepwater Limited is recruiting an experienced Receivables & Billings Accountant to ensure timely and accurate project billing and collections while capturing contractual revenue, reimbursable costs and approved variations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely invoices in accordance with contracts, approved rates, billing milestones and supporting documentation requirements.
  • Calculate and invoice drilling day rates, mobilisation and demobilisation, reimbursables, personnel, equipment, services, approved variations and other contractual entitlements.
  • Review project activities and contractual provisions to identify unbilled revenue, recoverable costs, variations, claims and potential revenue leakage.
  • Coordinate with Commercial, Operations and Project Finance teams to ensure changes in scope and additional services are properly documented and billed.
  • Maintain an up-to-date aged receivables report and provide collection forecasts to the Project Finance Controller.
  • Follow up on overdue invoices and coordinate the resolution of customer queries and payment issues.
  • Resolve invoice rejections, deductions, short payments and disputed amounts.
  • Maintain proper documentation of billing disputes and agreed resolutions.
  • Maintain complete audit trails for invoices and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, delegated authorities, project procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other project teams to support efficient and commercially successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
  • ACA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
  • 5–8 years of relevant billing, receivables or project accounting experience.
  • Experience in contract-based oil and gas, offshore or marine operations is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, professional discipline and sound judgement.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
