Maestro FM, a new radio station located in Ibadan, Oyo State, is recruiting to fill the position of Reporter.

Job Summary

The Reporter will be responsible for gathering, investigating and reporting news stories for broadcast. The successful candidate should have relevant experience in journalism, strong communication skills and the ability to deliver accurate, balanced and timely news reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, research and develop news stories for broadcast.
• Gather information through interviews, field reporting and other reliable sources.
• Conduct interviews with relevant individuals and stakeholders.
• Write clear, accurate and engaging news scripts and reports.
• Cover news events, press conferences, public functions and other assignments.
• Verify facts and information before submitting stories for publication or broadcast.
• Work with editors, presenters and other members of the news team to meet deadlines.
• Monitor current affairs and identify emerging stories relevant to the station’s audience.
• Adhere to professional journalism ethics and broadcasting standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Candidates should possess relevant qualifications in Journalism, Mass Communication or a related field.
• Relevant experience in reporting or broadcast journalism is required.
• Excellent writing, interviewing and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research, fact-checking and news-gathering abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills and a professional approach to reporting.
