Job Description
VFD Group is seeking a Risk Manager to build and embed a strong risk management culture across the Group. The role will develop and maintain risk frameworks that support the achievement of VFD Group’s corporate objectives while ensuring effective identification, assessment and management of risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain risk frameworks and policies, including Enterprise Risk Framework, Risk Appetite Policy and Operational Risk Policies.
- Ensure effective systems are in place for identifying, assessing and reporting risks across all risk types.
- Identify risks that exceed or may exceed the organisation’s risk appetite and escalate them to management and the Board.
- Monitor risk controls and assess their operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate risk management training and provide guidance where required.
- Conduct and document risk assessments across business functions.
- Advise management on business risks and opportunities.
- Coordinate with Business Unit Leads to update risk registers and track action plans.
- Ensure business continuity tests are conducted according to approved schedules.
- Drive the identification, measurement, analysis and reporting of organisational risks.
- Monitor remediation of reported breaches and risk misalignments.
- Serve as a trusted adviser to Executive Management and the Board Risk Committee on strategic, operational, financial and regulatory risks.
- Participate in Executive Management and Board Sub-Committee meetings and provide independent risk insights.
- Conduct portfolio-level risk assessments, stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Oversee counterparty risk management, credit risk assessments and due diligence for investments and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, governance standards and industry best practices.
- Lead Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management and Incident Management programmes across the Group.
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a related field.
- Master’s Degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ risk management experience, preferably within financial services.
- Strong analytical, organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.
- Good knowledge of risk policies and practices within a financial services environment.
- Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills.
- Good team management abilities.
