Job Description

  • Comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Handbook.
  • Collate the departmental asset register and ensure departmental assets are properly kept, used and maintained.
  • Manage departmental assets, including laptops and other equipment.
  • Handle the quarterly publication of the names of delinquent customers in national newspapers.
  • Perform other credit administration duties as may be assigned by the Head, Credit Risk Management or Head, Credit Administration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate Management Credit Committee (MCC) and Board Credit Committee (BCC) meetings, track and follow up with relevant parties on outstanding issues, and ensure completeness of meeting agendas.
  • Supervise the circulation of credit papers to General Heads (GHs) and Heads of Departments (HoDs) for presentation.
  • Prepare and review credit matters for MCC.
  • Prepare and review credit matters for BCC.
  • Prepare and upload MCC papers on Microsoft Teams.
  • Prepare and upload BCC papers on BoardEffect.
  • Take minutes for all MCC and BCC meetings.
  • Review extracts of BCC and MCC decisions on credit matters to ensure that circulated decisions accurately reflect the Committees’ resolutions and ensure the extracts are circulated within five hours after each meeting.
  • Review updates of MCC and BCC decisions on Fintrak.
  • Liaise with the Value Chain Management Team to maximise value chain opportunities for the Bank.
  • Liaise with the Office of the Company Secretary on matters relating to BCC and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Handle complaints and enquiries from Credit Administration Processes (CAP), Business Units (BUs) and Strategic Business Units (SBUs).
  • Liaise with CAP and the Business Team to ensure credit papers and updates/reports due for consideration by the Board Credit Committee and Board of Directors are submitted and circulated on time.
  • Handle the departmental Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Information Security audits and ensure all exceptions are resolved.
  • Work with the Head of Unit, Credit Administration, to ensure all exceptions raised by internal and external auditors on the Credit Administration function are resolved on time.
  • Manage and control the departmental budget as agreed with the Head, Credit Risk Management.

Requirements

Education

  • First and Second degrees in any discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualifications are required.
  • A degree in Linguistics or Law will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the credit approval process.
  • Understanding of Credit Policy.
  • Understanding of operations processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

Skills and Competencies

  • Basic computer skills and exposure to Microsoft applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal and people-management skills.
  • Strong business writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills.
