Job Description

The Warehouse Officer will support the day-to-day management of warehouse activities, including material receipt, storage, issuance, documentation, inventory handling and housekeeping, while ensuring compliance with warehouse procedures and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with warehouse SOPs and policies.
  • Offload, physically count, tag and receive consignments from vendors.
  • Issue materials to user departments in accordance with established SOPs and policies.
  • Properly stack and bin materials in allocated bin locations.
  • Comply with all material-handling techniques and safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation of warehouse activities and transactions.
  • Sort, tag, pack and load materials as required.
  • Ensure accurate counting and recording of materials.
  • Maintain proper warehouse and material housekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the superior.

Qualifications

  • ND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or professional certification such as APICS or CSCP is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse management, distribution or logistics operations, preferably with experience managing large-scale warehouses or distribution centres.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, logistics processes and supply chain best practices.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, security protocols and workplace health standards governing warehouse operations, including OSHA requirements.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop warehouse staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyse data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems, inventory control software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
