Job Summary
The Warehouse Team Leader will directly supervise, manage and optimise warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, replenishment, shipping and returns, to meet and exceed set goals.
The role involves overseeing and coordinating daily warehousing activities while implementing quality, productivity, production and customer service standards.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage and drive improvements in daily warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, offloading and loading.
- Optimise warehouse processes to ensure satisfactory and timely delivery to customers.
- Manage warehouse inventory with a focus on driving inventory accuracy.
- Process customer receipts and pass customer credit.
- Process inter-depot and inter-warehouse transfers.
- Manage critical products affecting downtime caused by logistics, including sorting and FLT availability.
- Manage the inflow and outflow of products, including full products and containers.
- Drive the achievement of warehouse PI and KPI targets.
- Participate in annual target setting and cascading.
- Cascade team and individual goals and manage team performance through daily performance tracking and monthly one-on-one sessions.
- Develop and implement process standards, including SOPs, OPLs and OWDs.
- Manage warehouse stock to ensure quality and availability to internal and external customers.
- Maintain and improve safety by driving correct safety behaviours on the shop floor.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of warehouse assets, forklifts and human resources.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory and shipments.
- Facilitate team dynamics.
- Supervise daily stock counts.
- Manage internal and external customer complaints.
Minimum Requirements
- B.Sc., B.Tech or HND in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Key Attributes and Competencies
- Engage with the Plant regarding its VPO/DPO goals by driving VPO/DPO on the shop floor.
- Support the Plant’s VPO/DPO goals through representation during milestone audits.
- Collate and submit daily PI/KPI data as required by the Warehouse Controller.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to set and achieve goals.
- Dependable and consistent in following through on responsibilities.
- Positive attitude and ability to create a good working environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal direction.
- Team-oriented and able to maximise collaboration.
