Job Purpose

The Analyst will collect, analyse, interpret and summarise complex sales data to generate statistical and analytical reports that support sales activities, planning, continuous improvement and fact-based decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate sales performance across gross connection growth, sales channels, retail points, trade partners and data partners.
• Collect, analyse and interpret sales data and develop weekly and monthly reports for business review meetings.
• Engage regional teams to follow up on trade activities and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a reliable database for tracking channel services and supporting channel business decisions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-to-date (YTD) performance reports.
• Build and maintain accurate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sales performance, channel, trade, retail and geographical reports.
• Develop and use data collection tools and methods to evaluate operational data and improve sales planning.
• Develop report specifications to obtain required data from various sources.
• Provide ongoing and ad hoc reports on key sales health indicators using data from various databases.
• Use analytical tools such as SAS, Power BI and Oracle SQL to support sales analysis and reporting.
• Identify and monitor competitors’ sales activities and provide insights for appropriate countermeasures.
• Support the use of network analytics to improve sales planning efficiency and effectiveness and enable targeted local interventions.
• Coordinate data requests relating to pre- and post-return-on-investment data extraction, analytical data samples and other ad hoc requirements.

Requirements

• First degree in a numerate discipline.
• Fluent in English.
• 3–7 years of experience in a relevant area of specialisation.
• Experience working with others in a professional environment.
• Experience working in a medium-sized organisation.
• Experience in project planning and reporting, sales, marketing or a related function.
• Experience using data mining tools.
• Telecommunications experience will be an added advantage.
