Key Purpose of this role: Develop communication and advocacy strategies aligned with business objectives. Anticipate challenges, protect, enhance reputation, and manage dialogue with stakeholders.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- LEAD THE CORPORATE AFFAIRS FUNCTION
- Develop Corporate Affairs Strategic Plan and Goals.
- Proactively identify reputation and license to trade risk factors.
- Monitor internal and external stakeholders’ expectations and perception alignment.
- Manage the Implementation of the Corporate Affairs Plan and Goals
- Implement team and individual goals.
- Provide proactive leadership for high performance.
- Safeguard Compliance with Corporate Affairs Policies Implementation
- Ensure consistent governance through corporate affairs policies.
- Implement responsible alcohol way consistent with group practices.
- Guide Business Thinking and Practice to Achieve Integrated Reputation Management
- Monitor stakeholder expectations and perceptions.
- Leverage stakeholder relationships, media, and internal communications.
- BUILD BUSINESS CAPABILITY IN ALCOHOL RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
- Promote a culture of alcohol responsibility.
- Engage external stakeholders on alcohol issues.
- DEVELOP PARTNERSHIP AND MANAGE STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIPS
- Engage with strategic stakeholders to enhance reputation.
- Influence business thinking and decisions through internal engagement.
- MANAGE COMMUNICATION
- Oversee corporate communication strategies.
- Coordinate internal communication efforts and crisis communication protocols.
Key Competencies and Attributes: Good communication skills, right contacts with regulatory agencies, relationship-building skills, good self-management practice, little guidance and supervision required, knowledge of local trends and laws, ability to engage stakeholders in dialogue, negotiation skills, proactive management of regulatory issues.
Minimum Requirements: First degree in Social Sciences or Humanities, 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role, membership of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (Legally mandatory and compulsory for any corporate affairs practitioner in Nigeria), knowledge of the media, people management practices.
