The role will support activities covering pipeline and facility construction, field development, flowline replacement, wells, seismic surveys, litigation, oil spill survey response and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Purpose
The Geomatics Surveyor will provide positioning support services and survey control for major engineering projects across Renaissance’s operations. The role covers geomatics support for exploration, development, production and asset management activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver geomatics survey services across Exploration, Development, Production and Asset Management activities.
- Provide input into Geomatics specifications, Service Level Agreements, Value Tracker, incident registers, processes and statutory requirements.
- Ensure alignment of Geomatics work instructions and processes with industry best practices.
- Represent Geomatics capabilities and responsibilities in engagements with customers.
- Improve HSSE behaviours and performance through appropriate planning, auditing and inspection of contractor work areas and equipment.
- Review plans of CSRs to ensure projects are governed by comprehensive Project-Specific HSSE and Emergency Response (ER) plans.
- Participate in HSE incident investigations and project close-outs.
- Contribute to project cost reduction without compromising project objectives or HSSE performance.
- Liaise with customers to influence project design, timing and delivery.
- Track project costs and performance during execution.
- Participate in project review meetings and share relevant lessons learned.
- Apply operational experience and newly deployed technologies to improve project workflows.
- Analyse the operational, cost and technical performance of surveys.
- Identify and assess new technologies that could improve survey activities across Renaissance’s operations.
- Support the revision and continuous improvement of Geomatics technical standards and specifications.
- Implement DCAF standards and coordinate Technical Assurance of individual deliverables.
- Liaise with TA2/1 to ensure quality control actions are closed out and documented.
- Participate in Geomatics discipline activities and contribute to at least one discipline improvement project.
- Ensure onshore survey practices are aligned with Renaissance and industry specifications and standards.
- Represent Renaissance before professional bodies, government authorities, partners and contractors on technical and regulatory survey matters.
- Participate in and present at internal and external conferences.
- Share knowledge and experience while identifying technology gaps and opportunities.
- Act as contract user for specialised survey positioning contracts and oversee the delivery of survey work.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying and Geomatics (B.Sc. or B.Tech.) from a recognised university.
- Previous experience as a QA/QC Surveyor, Party Leader, Project Surveyor or in a related role.
- At least 3 years of post-graduation survey experience.
- Sound knowledge of Geodesy, Topographical, Engineering, Cadastral and Hydrographic Survey.
- Programming and data modelling skills.
- Proficiency in the use of ESRI ArcGIS suite of applications.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is an important advantage.
- Must be registerable by the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON).
