About the Job

The Heart of House Specialist plays an important role in supporting several essential hotel operations. The position works with different departments, including the kitchen, food and beverage and laundry teams, to support cleaning and operational needs.

The role involves preparing clean linen and spotless dishes for guests, operating and maintaining equipment and tools such as dishwashers, hand-washing stations, washing machines and dryers, and transporting dishes and linen throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Support cleaning and operational functions across different hotel departments.
• Work with kitchen, food and beverage, laundry and other teams to meet their cleaning and operational needs.
• Prepare clean and fresh linen for use throughout the hotel.
• Ensure dishes and other items are properly cleaned and ready for guest use.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as dishwashers, washing machines and dryers.
• Maintain hand-washing stations and other assigned work areas.
• Transport dishes, linen and other items throughout the hotel.
• Follow company policies, procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain a professional uniform, personal appearance and communication style.
• Develop positive and constructive working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
• Work collaboratively with other employees to achieve shared goals.
• Listen and respond appropriately to colleagues’ concerns and needs.
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions to the manager.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds (22.7 kg) without assistance.
• Work while standing, sitting and moving around for extended periods.
• Reach for objects above the head and below the knees.
• Bend, twist, pull and squat as required while performing duties.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.
